How to Be Saved Empty How to Be Saved

Post  Chasmira1060 Sun Mar 28, 2010 3:59 pm

This thread is for all who are searching for God, searching for the true meaning in life, searching for the road to salvation. I would like to show you using God's Word and as simply as I can how YOU can be saved--for all eternity.

People often ask "what must I do to be saved"? In reality, there is nothing great enough we CAN do. Some believe salvation is based on having faith and doing good works; some believe they must prove themselves "good enough" to get into Heaven. But the truth is only God is perfect and none of us can ever come close to measuring up to His standards:

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

Indeed, while some things in the Bible are mysterious and more difficult for the common man to understand--and God's Word even says we cannot fully understand the ways of God while on this earth and with imperfect human brains and bodies--He makes it very clear that man is sinful and man deserves death.

BUT He makes it just as clear as to how man can be saved. John 3:16 and 17 says:

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

Christ came into the world not to condemn sinful man but to save. In the Old Testament, God's people had to offer animal sacrifices as a symbol of paying for their sin. Sin was worthy of death, so they sacrificed the animal instead. But God used this to show that even these sacrifices could never really be enough. Men needed a perfect sacrifice to take their place.

So Christ came to die for the sins of ALL mankind. Acts 10 speaks about a certain Roman centurian who was very devout--he prayed, gave alms, truly believed in God. But he knew something was missing. He believed in God very strongly but had not accepted Him as Lord and Savior. He prayed God would show him the way. God sent a vision to Peter, one of Christ's original apostles. Peter was a Jew, and the Jews were very prejudiced and believed salvation was only for them. But through this vision, Peter learned that he was meant to go and witness to the centurian--and that salvation was meant for ALL people.

So, if you are looking for that perfect peace and eternal life--for all who die without their sins being forgiven will die forever in Hell, separated from God with no hope--you can accept Christ as your Savior right now. He gave His life freely, suffering unimaginable physical pain as well as bearing the incredible weight of all the sins of every man in the world--past, present, and future. He took on the death we are deserving of. Then, after three days, He arose from the grave, conquering death, so that all who believe may also rise when they die--and live eternally with Him.

He gave His life freely. Salvation is a gift. The only thing you must actually do is humble yourself--and accept that gift. You must believe with all your heart that Christ died for your sins, rose from the dead, and is Lord, Savior, and Ruler over all. And you must ask Him to come into your heart as such.

If you would like to accept Him right now but are uncertain how to begin, here is a simple prayer you can pray. It can be these words or in your own--it just has to be sincere. This prayer will start your eternal relationship with Christ, so, as with any relationship, the words can't be fleeting. They must be meant with all your heart.

Prayer:

"Oh, God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen."

God bless. And for all of those who have accepted or shall accept Him, I welcome you to our family, my brothers and sisters in Christ. We are one in Him; now go, and spread the joy and light of your salvation with the world.

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." (Matthew 5:14) cheers
